
Dr. Congcong Bi was born in Shandong, China and began her professional music training at age 13 after being admitted to Xinghai Conservatory of Music. At 17, she earned a full scholarship to study at ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands, where she continued to develop as a performer and musician.
She has received several performance honors, including winning the Lee University Concerto Competition in 2018 and representing Mississippi State at the MTNA Division-Level Competition in 2020.
Dr. Bi is an active performer who regularly presents solo recitals. Last year, she performed multiple solo recitals with pianist Dr. Qianyu Chen at venues such as Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, W.E. Music Academy, and Gloria Shott Performance Hall, among others.
In addition to performing, Dr. Bi is involved in music education and research. She currently teaches at the University of North Georgia and Gwinnett Technical College, and serves as an Orchestra Director in DeKalb County Public Schools. Her research has been presented at both national and international conferences, including the Research on Contemporary Composition Conference, the International Study Group on Music Archaeology Symposium in Würzburg, Germany, and the TCSG Mathematics & Science Conference. Her work has also been published in the International Journal of Computer Mathematics. Dr. Bi is passionate about supporting the music community and serves as a judge for Georgia All-State auditions.
She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master’s degree from Lee University (TN), and a Bachelor’s degree from ArtEZ Conservatorium in Zwolle, Netherlands.
